Space facilities in Sweden

Esrange is a Swedish space range with sophisticated facilities that was established in 1966. The geographical location, north of the Artic Circle, offers several unique advantages for space and environmental research, testing of new aerospace techniques and for control and operation of various types of satellite. The base is managed by the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC).

Onsala Space Observatory, the Swedish National Facility for Radio Astronomy, was founded in 1949. The observatory is hosted by Department of Radio and Space Science at Chalmers University of Technology. Onsala Space Observatory provides scientists with equipment to study the Earth and the rest of the Universe. It operates two radio telescopes in Onsala, 20 and 25 meters.

More information about both facilities can be found via the menue to the right.
